Incentives for research achievements of State Key Laboratory of Lithospheric Evolution

1 In accordance with the Interim Measures for the Administration of the State Key Laboratory and the spirit of documents released by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Base, and in order to encourage the  Laboratory personnel to devote themselves into scientific and technological innovations and standardize the laboratory reward system, the following provisions are formulated:

 

2 Abiding by the principles of encouraging innovation and mobilizing the laboratory staff, awards shall go to outstanding achievements in scientific research and technological innovations, such as high-quality academic essays, national patents, and etc. Incentives shall also be given to people who contribute in the improvement of experimental methods and technology and achievements made in laboratory operations.

 

3.Standards for outstanding achievements

 

1) Academic theses

(1) Requirements: the winners of awards shall be the first authors (including students) of theses, which have the title of the laboratory correctly spelled and an impact factor is larger than or equal to 2.0, and have been included by SCI.

(2) Criteria: awards shall be based on the numbers of the theses; each thesis shall win half of the awards set up in accordance with relevant documents released by the Institute.

 

2) Patents

Only applicable to service inventions with authorized certification from the Country. The incentives shall be one-time only and its standard shall be half of the awards set up in accordance with relevant documents released by the Institute.

 

4. Other incentives

Other incentives are used to encourage personnel who contribute in the improvement of experimental methods and technology and achievements in laboratory operations the results of laboratory operations.  

 

1) Achievements made in the improvement of experimental methods and technologies are encouraged to go to public by forms of writing academic theses or applying for patents.

2) Achievements in the improvements of experimental methods and technologies can apply for one-time awards if they passed the evaluation organized by the laboratory. Actual award amount shall be based on specific conditions.

3) Awards for seasoned and sedulous laboratory technicians are necessary measures to ensure high efficient operation of the laboratory and encourage the enthusiasm of the lab staff. The total amount of the awards shall be divided by the total number of laboratory personnel. The number of personnel shall be that listed in the annals submitted to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

4) If technicians win other awards at the meantime, then the higher ones shall be counted.

 

5. The annual award amount of the Laboratory will be determined and adjusted in accordance with the total number of published theses and actual operating expenses.

 

6. The State Key Laboratory of Lithospheric Evolution retains the right of final interpretation of this regulation.

 

7.This regulation shall go into effect since the year of 2006.
